Re-working an Existing Logo

Computer Graphics I Students: 
Your challenge is to re-work an existing logo.  The twist is that it has to still relate to the old logo, only you have to improve it.  Look at the examples below (taken from the wonderful logo blog “Brand New“) to get an idea about what it means to re-work a logo without completely changing it. 

Start by looking up the logo and printing it out on a 8.5 x 11” sheet of paper.  On that printout, sketch 10 DIFFERENT ways you could alter the logo to improve it without completely throwing the whole thing out.
